TWENTY-TWO COUNTRIES TO SEEK GOLD MEDALS IN GYMNASTICS AT LIMA 2019

Twenty-two countries will be present at the gymnastics competitions, and 184 athletes will be competing for gold, silver and bronze medals at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, according to the order determined for the artistic, rhythmic and trampoline disciplines.

Athletes from the United States, Canada, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago will compete in artistic, rhythmic and trampoline gymnastics. Competitions in these three disciplines will be held between July 27 and August 5, at the Villa El Salvador Sports Center.

Colombia, Guatemala, Venezuela, Panama, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Uruguay, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Chile, Ecuador and Peru will also be competing at the Pan American Games.

The groups were determined after the draw that took place at the Lima 2019 venue a few days ago, in the presence of the president of the Pan American Gymnastics Union, Naomi Valenzo, and the Lima 2019 sports director, Gustavo San Martín.

Gymnastics is one of the 39 sports that will be present at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The competitions will take place from July 27 to 31, when 114 gymnasts (men and women) will demonstrate their skills in floor exercises, pommel horse, uneven and parallel bars, rings, balance beam and horizontal bar.

There will be 46 gymnasts competing for medals in rhythmic gymnastics, which will take place from August 2 to 5, in hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon routine events. In trampoline competitions, which will be held on August 4 and 5, 24 gymnasts will participate in the two individual categories.

The gymnastics competitions will be held at the new Villa El Salvador Sports Center.

ABOUT LIMA 2019

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations of the Americas. There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines; 13 of them are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
