The Lima 2019 Games are not only a sports event. They are also the opportunity to show the world our richness and cultural diversity. Lima 2019 will offer a cultural program that will expose the several aesthetic features of our country, combined with the Games values, before the national and international community.
Therefore, an open call was made to select cultural projects in five categories: visual arts, performing arts, music, design and clothing and art for social transformation. These categories will be part of a huge show of artistic expression and the projects may receive funding.

CULTURAYMI, THE SPORTS AND CULTURUAL EVENT
The Lima 2019 Cultural Program, called Culturaymi, will be developed together with sports competitions. It offers a circuit and a venue, and it has been created to promote and celebrate the creative and cultural wealth of our country.
The cultural venue is supported by several partners and allied entities and will be located in the Parque de la Exposición. It will open on July 27 and will operate for 23 non-consecutive days until August 31. It is expected to receive more than 25,000 people per day including: tourists from different parts of the world, athletes and Para athletes, Games participants, press representatives, Peruvian citizens, among others.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 26 and August 11, 2019, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 62 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 23 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 the Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. The competitions will take place between August 23 and September 1, 2019. Fourteen sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
