Preschool and primary children from La Cantuta school in San Luis participated in the socio-cultural show carried out by Lima 2019 to teach them about the Olympic and Paralympic values.
Then, students enthusiastically played roulette and memory games, with the aim of reinforcing their knowledge about the values of the Games.
Less than 70 days before the Games, the Lima 2019 campaign continues spreading the Pan American Games values: respect, friendship and excellence; and the Parapan American Games values: the search for equality, determination, inspiration and courage.
“Children will benefit from these events because they will remember the values in the classroom and they will use them. Teachers are reinforcing information about the Games so that they know who is coming or what sports will be played,” said Elizabeth Santos, vice principal of the school.
Before the campaign, and as part of the Ministry of Education’s current regulations, the students of La Cantuta school carried out 10 minutes of daily physical activity as a healthy life habit.
“In our school, we have ongoing sports activities, and we also carry out what was instructed by MINEDU. The whole staff participates here, from teachers to service personnel and the children, and that’s important because that way we’re all involved,” stated the vice principal.
The Games start on July 26, and San Luis will be one of the venue districts. La Cantuta school does not want to fall behind, so it is preparing to host the event. “Through the campaign, we have learned about the Games’ importance. We are already preparing as a school,” concluded Santos.
Around 18,000 students from 30 schools located in Lima 2019 venue districts, such as San Luis, San Borja, Villa María del Triunfo and Villa El Salvador, will benefit from the campaign that will be carried out until July 9.
