Lima 2019 conducted the Training Session for Strategic Partners, Suppliers and Artists of the Cultural Venue, part of the Cultural Program (Culturaymi). This venue will be operating simultaneously to the sports competition of the Games in order to show to show the Cultural Program’s dimension and importance.
The training session also aimed to make the attendees aware of the Parapan American sports and the appropriate treatment of people with an impairment. Likewise, it informed about the basic aspects of the proper handling of solid waste and presented the strategy of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations “ponte en #ModoNiñez” (which aims to protect children’s welfare) as part of the Cultural Program.
To that end, the training session counted on the participation of Cindy Vásquez, head of the Cultural Program and Lima 2019 Welcome Ceremonies; Carolina Larco, Lima 2019 Parapan Integration representative; Silvia Mori, Director of Education and Environmental Citizenship in the Ministry of Environment; and María del Carmen Santiago, General Director of Girls, Boys and Teenagers in the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations.
“Through the call, we wanted to give an opportunity to those projects and artists that did not have the necessary support to stay in an important platform such as the Cultural Venue. Our interest is that, through Lima 2019, everyone knows about the wonderful cultural projects that will definitely enrich our venue,” assured Vásquez.
The objectives of the Cultural Venue and the Cultural Circuit are the training of spectators, the dissemination of independent artistic communities, the preservation of heritage, the promotion of alliances between public and private sectors, the integration of cultural industries workers, among others. They are expected to have an attendance of one million people.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The Opening Ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 26 and August 11, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. Competitions will take place from August 23 to September 1, 2019. Thirteen sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
