The Americas Paralympic Committee announced the nomination of Pilar Jáuregui, badminton Para athlete and Ambassador of Lima 2019, to participate in the “Athlete of the Month” of November award in the Americas.
Jáuregui, who recently ranked fourth in the world Para badminton Women WH 2 - Single ranking, was nominated after becoming the most awarded athlete in the Pan American Para badminton Championship held in VIDENA. She won three gold medals in singles, doubles and mixed events.
Among nominated athletes were Alana Maldonado (judo) from Brazil, the Mexican women's team (wheelchair basketball), the American athletes Nick Taylor and David Wagner (wheelchair tennis) and Steve Wilson (boccia) from Bermudas.
