ARGENTINA BRINGS ITS BASKETBALL STARS TO LIMA 2019

Lima 2019 will have the chance to see the best athletes in the Americas and the world. The Pan American Games will have stars such as the ones in the Argentine basketball team, which has confirmed their list of players for the international competitions to be held in our country in less than a month.

The Argentine basketball coach Sergio Hernandez confirmed the names of the 15 players that will be part of the Lima 2019 process, which starts on July 17, in Bahía Blanca. This list includes Argentina’s top stars, since the Pan American Games is their preparation tournament for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup starting on August 31 in China.

The list includes emblematic stars such as the power forward, Luis Scola, captain of the Argentine team, who currently plays in China, and is also member of the golden generation of Rio de la Plata, who won a gold medal at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and a bronze medal at Beijing 2008.

Nicolás Laprovittola of Joventut Badalona was considered one of the best players in the Spain League last season. Out of that league we also have Facundo Campazzo, one of the stars of Real Madrid.

The Lima 2019 basketball competition will take place July 31 to August 5, at the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum in the district of San Borja. According to the Basketball Argentine Confederation, the coach decided to trust in the team foundation, which will compete at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China next month. This tournament will serve them as a tryout and a chance to win a medal, after 24 years without reaching the Pan American podium.

Argentina’s training will start in the Bahía Blanca city, on July 17. Their trip to Lima is scheduled for July 28. Argentina’s first match is scheduled for July 31 against Uruguay. The next day, its rival will be Dominican Republic, and the final match of Group B will be against Mexico on August 2.
