Justin Dowell (USA), current world champion in this discipline, will compete in the Costa Verde venue in San Miguel, which Lima 2019 will deliver to the Peruvian Cycling Federation on Friday, July 5.
Hannah Roberts, 2017 world champion, will also participate in the freestyle category.
The finest athletes in the Americas will arrive in Peru to compete in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The current BMX freestyle cycling world champion, the American Justin Dowell, will be one of them.
Fellow countrywoman, Hanna Roberts, 2017 world champion, will join him in the same BMX category. There will be six American athletes in total participating in BMX racing and BMX freestyle.
“Both Justin and Hannah have had an amazing season so far this year, including winning the World Cup at Montpellier, and we want to make sure that our athletes are as prepared as possible for the Tokyo Olympic Games,” said Scott Schnitzspahn, USA Cycling Vice President of Elite Athletics.
“As BMX freestyle makes its debut in the Lima 2019 Games, we are pleased to help them while they gain experience by competing in a multi sports event before the Olympic Games,” stated the vice president.
BMX racing athletes competing in Lima 2019 Pan American Games include Cameron Wood, Kamren Larsen and Sophia Foresta, as well as current U.S. Junior champion, Emily Hayes.
BMX freestyle competitions will be held on August 11 between 11:00 and 13:30 at the Costa Verde Circuit in San Miguel. BMX racing competitions will be held on August 8 and 9 between 10:00 and 14:40 at the Costa Verde Circuit in San Miguel. One of the attractions of this category will be the participation of Colombian Mariana Pajón, winner of two gold medals in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Tickets for preliminary events of the Pan American Games are available and prices start at PEN 20.00 There will be a 50% discount for children under 18, senior citizens and people with an impairment.

In the case of e-tickets, printing will no longer be necessary since customers can show their e-ticket from their mobile phones at the entrance of the sports venue.
THE PAN AMERICAN GAMES
The Opening Ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
Lima 2019 Games will take place in various venues such as the National Sports Village VIDENA in San Luis, Villa María del Triunfo Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas Surfing Sports Center, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. There will be more sports than in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where a total of 32 sports will be featured. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
