A new workshop of the training process, to be part of the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program will take place this weekend in Lima, Callao, Tacna and Paracas. It is addressed to those who have registered to be volunteers in the Pan American and Parapan American Games, to be held for the first time in Peru.
More than 5000 people are expected to participate. The training process aims to provide participants with the necessary tools, knowledge and skills to carry out their role successfully in the Games and create a social legacy. This program will be carried out jointly with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
It should be noted that this training experience is one of the most important benefits of Lima 2019 Volunteer Program and will be delivered to 40,000 volunteer applicants, with around 20 class hours with in-person and virtual trainings. It started with the general in-person training for volunteer applicants living in Peru.
Training will take place in the following venues: Lima, Callao, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Cajamarca, Huancayo, Tacna, Arequipa, Cusco, Tarapoto, Ica, Cañete, Paracas and Pisco, according to the schedule published at www.lima2019.pe/voluntariado

Training in Lima, Callao, Tacna and Paracas
This weekend, training will be delivered in Lima, Callao and other provinces of Peru. In Lima, the program will take place in Cercado de Lima and Villa El Salvador. The first will be at the Technological University of Peru (avenida Arequipa 265, Lima) and the other will be at the same university in Villa el Salvador (Carretera Panamericana Sur km 16, Villa El Salvador).
At the same time, training will be at the César Vallejo University in Callao (Avenida Argentina 1795 – Callao). In provinces, a new workshop will be held in Tacna at the Private University of Tacna (Avenida Jorge Basadre Grohmann s/n, Pocollay - Tacna - Escuela Profesional de Derecho).
Paracas Games Venue
The first training session will take place in Paracas at the District Municipality of Paracas (Avenida Libertadores S/N Paracas, Ica). In fact, this city will be one of the venues of the Pan American Games as it will host the sailing competitions due to the natural conditions of the sea of Paracas.
Training will be divided into two shifts from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00. Participants will have to show their ID (DNI). It is important that participants arrive hour before the beginning of the training to sign in and enter the classroom on time.

In order to include more people, the Volunteer Program registrations have been extended until February 22. To become a volunteer, you only need to be over 16 years old by April 1, 2019, be available at least eight days, not necessarily consecutive days. You must be friendly, proactive and able work in teams. Minors need their parents’ permission. Benefits of volunteering
Lima 2019 volunteers will have benefits such as the training program offered with the support of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and they will receive a certificate for their training and participation. Likewise, they will receive a uniform, accreditation, meals according to shift, accident insurance, transport, national and international contact network, and the opportunity to live a unique experience.
There are several functional departments where volunteers can be assigned to, such as accreditation, accommodation, arrivals and departures, transport, medical services, doping control, spectators service, press, protocol, sports, information technology, uniforms, workforce, marketing, among others.
