The facilities of the Miguel Grau Coliseum of Callao are being remodeled. The completion is planned for March 31, including works in plazas surrounding the main construction.
Works aim to provide more accessibility for people with impairment. Evacuation stairs have been expanded and works are being carried out before the installation of access ramps. The works also include the installation of an elevator for people with impairments for accessing to the VIP box and the Conference room.
Work on stands improvement is being carried out to continue with the seats installation for 2400 spectators.
This Sports Center will feature Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling and boxing competitions during the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. As for the Parapan American Games, goalball will be held in this venue.
This precinct is part of the Callao venue, and in general, the construction works are progressing at a good pace, complying with the schedule. The high-quality sports infrastructure and implementation of the competition venues will be the best legacy from Lima 2019 to the country.
