Callao Regional Sport Village will be one of the main venues of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games to be held from July 26 to August 11 and from August 23 to September 1, respectively. This morning, COPAL’s president Carlos Neuhaus, visited these facilities with the Callao Regional Dante Mandriotti.
At the end of his visit of the Sports Village Coliseums, where taekwondo, boxing and volleyball will take place, Neuhaus said that “thanks to the Pan American Games we have been modernizing the sports infrastructure in our country, especially in Lima and Callao, but this is going to impact many areas. This will make the people feel that there is a great variety of sports they can participate in.”
Also, he assured that the facilities will be ready in advance for the Pan American Games. “This work will be finished in March, so we have enough time for improvement if necessary,” he said.
For his part, Dante Mandriotti was enthusiastic about the site progress and mentioned that he is sure that the Pan American Games will be played in Callao. “Sport will be one of our pillars and we will have one of the best Coliseums. We will do constant events of volleyball, basketball, and many other, to promote the visit of many delegations and the development of many competitions”.
“Callao has to be a great host, a good fan of the Peruvian delegations that compete here,” he said.
