The expectations for the Pan American and Parapan American Games are growing. More than 400 enthusiastic children from the 1204 “Villa Jardín” school in San Luis participated in the “Soy Lima 2019” campaign, which aims to promote Olympic and Paralympic values through sports.
Before the promoting activity, students exercised for 10 minutes according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education that established that daily physical activity should be made during the school day as a healthy habit.
“Today has been an important day for students. Lima 2019 brings an educational and hopeful message with values, such as self-improvement, honesty, fair-play, in other words, values based on how to properly compete”, stated Arnaldo Gonzáles, Head of the primary level of this school.
“This kind of activities will influence children so they will practice sports, by imitation, and they will know that nothing can stop them”, expressed Gonzáles.
“Kids are excited because the Games will be held in our district, so they will be able to see delegations and athletes”, concluded the Head of the school.
San Luis will be one of the venue districts for Lima 2019 as events for athletics, Para athletics, swimming, diving, artistic swimming, Para swimming, track cycling, Para track cycling, handball, judo, wheelchair basketball, Para powerlifting, badminton, table tennis, artistic roller skating, Para badminton, Para table tennis, bowling and squash will be held at the National Sports Village (VIDENA).
The Lima 2019 Organizing Committee will continue promoting the “Soy Lima 2019” campaign in schools located in venue districts such as San Luis, San Borja, Villa María del Triunfo and Villa El Salvador in order to promote the Pan American and Parapan American Games that will start on July 26.
