This morning the Lima 2019 Executive Director, Carlos Neuhaus Tudela, and the Deputy Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Jorge Arévalo, visited the road work sites in the surroundings of the Villa María del Triunfo Sports Center.
The authorities visited the road work sites located on José Carlos Mariátegui and Primavera avenues, which will improve the access to the sport venue and will remain as a legacy for the people of Villa María del Triunfo. The Mayor of Villa María del Triunfo, Eloy Chávez, was also present during this visit.
Road works will be ready before the Pan American Games, to be held on July 26. “We're improving the accesses to facilitate the transport of the athletes who will arrive from all over the continent. We’ll work hard to hand over these works on time,” said the Deputy Minister.
Carlos Neuhaus talked about the road works on the streets and avenues of this district. “We'll welcome more than 10,000 athletes and technical officials, who will be transported from the Pan American and Parapan American Village to this competition venue. And now all their schedules will be met thanks to this works,” said Neuhaus.
Eloy Chávez pointed out that these road improvement works will remain as a legacy for the population. He also accompanied the Lima 2019 Director Executive during his tour around the Aquatic Center; the stadium for baseball, rugby and hockey; and the Peruvian frontón courts. All these facilities are located at the Villa María del Triunfo Sports, which is currently completed and fully operational.
“The sports center is amazing. It’ll not only benefit our population but also all the inhabitants of southern Lima. This will help us promote sports, so young people can practice new disciplines. We’re working with the Ministry of Housing to speed up all road works. They’ll be completed on time and without causing discomfort to the population,” said Eloy Chávez.
