The district of San Luis is getting ready for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and Parapan American Games, scheduled to start on July 26.
As home of the VIDENA, San Luis will welcome the continent’s top athletes and thousands of fans who will watch the various sports disciplines.
“We’ve arranged the hanging of flags across the district and the painting of the facades to embellish the city since we’ll be the face of these Games,” said the mayor of San Luis, David Rojas Maza.
Also, the First Inter-school Swimming Championship was held in the municipal swimming pool of the district, in order to promote that the Games are just around the corner.
Lima 2019 attended this competition in the free, back, chest and butterfly styles. In this championship, the Santa Matilde, Los Educadores and San Juan Matías schools represented San Luis; whilst the Pedro A. Labarthe school, La Victoria and the Mariscal Luzuriaga school, Ate.
It should be remembered that all swimming competitions will take place from August 6-10 in the modern Aquatic Center at the VIDENA. There will be diving, artistic swimming, and Para swimming events.
The VIDENA in San Luis will house sports such as: athletics, Para athletics, swimming, diving, artistic swimming, Para swimming, track cycling, Para-cycling track, handball, judo, wheelchair basketball, Para powerlifting, badminton, table tennis, artistic roller skating, Para badminton, Para table tennis, bowling, and squash.
In this context, the district is organizing a gastronomic fair with the participation of its residents and a handicraft market to promote trade among the people from all over the country.
