Thalía received the affection and recognition of the district’s residents and participants of this sports event. “Thanks to sports, Villa El Salvador residents know that they have an athlete who will be present at the Pan American Games, and I hope that they come cheer us on,” stated the Peruvian athlete.
Also, the Lima 2019 ambassador pointed out that “being an athlete is always a responsibility, and now we have another one that is not only representing Peru, but also your district. All of this gives you strength to keep training harder to bring out the best in yourself.”
The municipality gave her this recognition as part of the 48th anniversary of Villa El Salvador. “We’ve unanimously decided to recognize our wrestler, because we know she’s a role model who deserves this, and much more, as she is also a Lima 2019 ambassador,” said Nelly Huamaní, Education, Sports and Youth Deputy Manager of the Municipality of Villa El Salvador.
Thalía will compete in the freestyle wrestling events that will be held from August 8 to 10, in the Miguel Grau Coliseum, in the district of Callao.
Finally, Thalía asked the fans to “support me and all the athletes. Come cheer us on. We want packed stadiums and to feel the affection of the crowd. Let’s all play at Lima 2019.”
