The open area just south of the National Stadium was the setting for the Peruvians to enjoy a Sports Festival held by the National Paralympic Association of Peru (ANPP), where twelve Para sports competing for Lima 2019 Parapan American Games were shown.
This event was attended by the most outstanding Para athletes from the country, who had as their Lima 2019 Ambassador Pedro Pablo de Vinatea. The President of ANPP Lucha Villar and the President of the Peruvian Sports Institute, Susana Córdova, also participated.
The attendees enjoyed the exhibitions of: Para athletics, Para powerlifting, Para badminton, Para taekwondo, Para table tennis, goalball, football 5-a-side, boccia, judo, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and wheelchair tennis.
The skills of the Para athletes as well as the methodology of the games for Para sports were presented. Para sports competitions will take place from August 23 to September 1 during the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games.
It is important to say that the slogan for this activity was “Choose your goal”, to inspire people to fight for their goals for both sports and personal life.
Milco Unstoppable
A special guest at the Para sports Festival was Milco, the official mascot of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, it was received with applauses and smiles by the Para athletes and the attendees.
The mascot of Lima 2019 was able to portray the sports spirit and the Parapan American sports values, such as courage, determination, equality and inspiration.
