Disclosing the Games organization progress.
It launched today through the official newspaper “El Peruano” print edition.
The Lima 2019 Games Organizing Committee announced today that the Lima 2019 newspaper will be freely distributed in 14 districts where the venues of the Pan American and Parapan American Games are located. Today, the first samples of the official newspaper “El Peruano” print edition were delivered.
It will be published monthly and distributed in places with large traffic of people, for example, bus stands, malls, universities, sports federations, etc. It will also be distributed to attendants of various activities organized or promoted by Lima 2019.
Lima 2019 newspaper front page, in its first edition, shows that “Games are Peruvian” and that our capital will host the most important multi-sports event of the Americas.
Lima 2019 venues and mega infrastructure projects, which will be a legacy for all Peruvians, are described in the 16-page-newspaper. Readers will know more about Lima 2019 Ambassadors and “Milco”, the Games official mascot.
Another topic is the Parapan American Games, where the main element is accessibility. In this regard, it should be noted that 336 out of the 1096 apartments of the Athletes’ Village have been prepared for the use of Para athletes.
Also, it details the recruitment process of 19,000 volunteers for the Pan American and Parapan American Games, the most important multi-sports event of the Americas.
Therefore, the opening and closing ceremonies will put Lima under the spotlight as the sports capital of the Americas. It is estimated that broadcasting will reach around 500 million people around the world.
