La Molina will be one of the venues for the Games and one can already feel the sporting spirit. Milco, the Pan American and Parapan American Games mascot, visited the District Sports Center located in Musa as a guest star.
Despite the hot weather, Milco danced, made the play of honor in final match of the mixed football five-a-side and even showed people how to attack hit in volleyball, during the district's event.
The Army Equitation School, this venue will host the three events of equestrian sports: dressage, jumping and eventing.
The presence of Lima 2019 fills the municipality of La Molina with pride. "Our neighbors are always asking for information about the Games and we are trying to change people's mindset to encourage them to practice sports. The Pan American and Parapan American Games will have a positive impact in our intention to open sport in the district for everybody," stated Miguel Ángel Torres, Municipal Sports Coordinator.
Regarding the ongoing activities held at the municipality, Torres said: “we aim to open sports practice in the district for anyone, not only on Sundays but everyday. Therefore, we have implemented golf and archery workshops”.
Finally, Torres highlighted the importance of the legacy the Pan American and Parapan American Games will leave, “we're working with our neighbors, but also with schools because is crucial to foster the sport practice in children”.
Thus, people of all ages shared a moment with Milco, who continues to spread and promote Lima 2019 and the Games values through different sport activities, values like uniting all people of the Americas through sports.
