Our local divers Jesús Liranzo, Facundo Meza and Adrián Infante had a great performance in the National Diving Tournament, Summer Tournament organized by the Peruvian Swimming Federation in the Olympic Pool at Campo de Marte in Jesús María.
Ana Ricci was one of the best divers in women's category for 1m springboard with 212.7 points and Paola Borges for 3m springboard, where she reached 224.45 points.
Tens of competitors participated in the competition, which was attended by a number of fans.
This was a selection tournament for the Pan American Games, which will be held from next July 26 to August 11. The Technical Department and the Peruvian Swimming Federation will soon announce how the national team will be represented for Lima 2019.
The diving discipline will take place at the new Aquatic Center, opening in the next months at VIDENA in San Luis.
During the Games, the diving competitions will be held from August 1 to 5 and athletes will compete for 10 gold medals: 1m and 3m springboard, 10-meter diving platforms, 3-meter platform and 10-meter synchronized diving.
Diving is one of the five disciplines of aquatic sports, including swimming, open water, artistic swimming, and water polo. All of them will be held at VIDENA, except for water polo that will take place in the pool built in Villa María del Triunfo.
