The opening ceremony for the Pan American Games will be held on July 26, and the satellite village located at the Peruvian Naval Academy, in La Punta, will be one of the venues that will house the athletes competing in Lima 2019.
Moreover, you can already feel the excitement of the Pan American and Parapan American Games with the start of the autumn-winter season of the basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, swimming and table tennis sports academies at the Fernando Marotta Coliseum.
“We’re proud that athletes can stay in our district, and we’ll welcome them with open arms. We’re getting ready so La Punta is perfect for July 26,” said Katherine Zazzali, manager of Human Development of the district.
The district has already started promoting Lima 2019 and the authorities want all athletes to feel at home. “We know that La Punta is nice, but we want it to be even nicer and safer to house all athletes, coaches and delegates the way they deserve,” she added.
“A large number of children came with their parents, and they took part in the exhibitions. The presence of Milco, the official mascot, also helped encouraged sports practice,” said the Municipal Manager.
Additionally, Lima 2019 promoted the Pan American and Parapan American Games. For the first time, our country is in charge of the organization of the most important multi-sport event in the Americas and the second most significant in the world, after the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
