LEADERS OF INTERNATIONAL FEDERATIONS ARE AMAZED BY LIMA 2019 EQUESTRIAN VENUE

Seven Peruvian riders recognized the course for eventing, one of the disciplines that will be housed in this venue.

The authorities highlighted the work performed by the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee for the competitions that are about to start at the venue of La Molina.

Mario Fuentes, technical manager of the Equestrian Federation of Chile, said: “I must say the work of the Organizing Committee has been excellent. It’s amazing. The silica sand courses are extraordinary, and so are the stables, vets and grandstands. I go home pleased with all your efforts. You can see the ability and affection they have put, so that everything goes well at Lima 2019.”

Benjamín Fernández toured the venue on behalf of the Brazilian jumping track designer, Guillermo Noguiera. “I was satisfied with the equestrian areas, but we wanted to test the course quality. We’ve seen how the horses gallop without any problem,” he said. 

Unlike the first day in which the silica surface was tested, riders were able to overcome some of the obstacles they will encounter at the eventing competition to be held during the Pan American Games.

Juan José Francia and Diego Farje took part in the tests and were satisfied with the facilities. They were authorized by the Equestrian Sports Federation to participate in Lima 2019.

“We’ve confirmed the eventing course is great and allows horses to gallop naturally, which gives them confidence because it’s a three-day event,” mentioned Francia.

Diego Farje added that “it’s very important to recognize and test the course. That helps to identify it because the eventing route is very long.”

The three equestrian events will be held in La Molina. Dressage will take place from July 28 to July 31; eventing, from August 2 to 4; and jumping, from August 6 to 9.
