VILLA MARÍA DEL TRIUNFO
Currently, the Villa Maria del Triunfo Sports Center, venue for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and Parapan American Games, already has the grandstands for baseball, basque Pelota and softball fields. Additionally, artificial grass is being placed on the warm-up field for softball, while the one for baseball is already compacted.
The new sports infrastructure is located in the zone of José Carlos Mariátegui, surrounded by hills, full of houses and stairs, which undoubtedly shelter future athletes south of Lima.
The Villa Maria del Triunfo Sports Center comprises the design and construction of 21 hectares of sports infrastructure, including: two hockey fields, two rugby fields, two softball fields, one baseball field, four Basque pelota courts and four fronton courts and one Aquatic Center for water polo.
All facilities will have restrooms, changing rooms, modern seats and comfortable and safe access to the fields or courts for the athletes, always complying with the rules and procedures for circulation and accessibility of people with impairments.
The delivery of works will be in March 2019. However, the project includes a period of maintenance and closing of the contract until December 31, 2019.
This venue currently shows important progress in infrastructure works in its different areas, according to the established schedule. Likewise, all grandstands of the stadiums are built pending the placement of the seats.
The construction of the grandstands in the rugby and hockey fields was finished in structure and compaction works of the main and warm-up fields. They will be ready for the placement of the artificial grass.
Meanwhile, the Aquatic Center for water polo shows progress in the metal structure roofing, and finishing works of spectator stands and installation of the base of the pool is being adapted for heating conditions.
