LIMA 2019 AMBASSADOR, PILAR JÁUREGUI, NOMINATED FOR “ATHLETE OF THE YEAR” IN THE AMERICAS

Let's all vote! The Americas Paralympic Committee announced the nomination of Pilar Jáuregui, badminton Para athlete and Ambassador of Lima 2019, to participate in the “Athlete of the Month” of November award in the Americas.

Jáuregui, who recently ranked fourth in the world Para badminton Women WH 2 - Single ranking, was nominated after becoming the most awarded athlete in the Pan American Para badminton Championship held in VIDENA. She won three gold medals in singles, doubles and mixed events.

The best athlete this month and in the year

Thanks to her outstanding performances, the Lima 2019 Ambassador was chosen by the Americas Paralympic Committee as the "athlete of the month" on november.

Also, the Peruvian Badminton Federation awarded the Para athlete as the best Para badminton athlete in category 1 and best Para badminton athlete in women's category of the 2018 season. 

Another milestone in Jáuregui’s career was to ascend to the fourth place of the Para badminton women’s ranking in the WH-2 single category.
