With a grand finale, the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program closes the in-person training process aimed at more than 20,000 people from Lima and provinces, who applied to become volunteers in the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
The last in-person training will take place in Lima, Cañete, Paracas and Huacho this weekend, venues for the Lima 2019 Games, where the participation of nearly four thousand people registered in the Program is expected. The training has the support of the United Nations Office for Project Services - UNOPS.
The deadline for video interviews was extended until Monday, March 18, for applicants residing abroad. It is expected to have about 1000 additional applicants from abroad, interested in participating in the Lima 2019 Games.
Training aims to provide participants with the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills, to carry out their role successfully in the Games and create a social legacy with an emphasis on volunteering in our country.
After completing this phase of general in-person training and video interview (in the case of foreigners), applicants must continue with the next stages indicated in the Volunteer Route https://www.lima2019.pe/voluntariado.
In this context, the general virtual training continues (five modules): its purpose is to strengthen the knowledge of the applicants for their participation in the Lima 2019 Games. Then, a proposal for a volunteer position will be sent according to the preference and profile of the applicant, as well as the demand of the area (Volunteer Portal) between March and May. The process concludes with the acceptance of the position, thus becoming a volunteer for Lima 2019. The next step will be the specific virtual and in-person training at the venue, between April and July.
It should be noted that, in the overall process, there were a total of 100,094 people who showed their interest in participating in the largest multi-sport event in the continent, pre-registering to be volunteers at the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
