Lima 2019 will accomplish a new important milestone with the delivery of the amazing Bowling Center, the seventh venue will be officially presented by the Organizing Committee. This center will be used by the Peruvian athletes to continue with their preparation on the road to the Pan American Games.
Carlos Neuhaus, Lima 2019 Executive Director; Wilhelm Funke, Lima 2019 Project and Infrastructure Manager; Juan Carlos Yuzuriha, President of the Peruvian Bowling Federation; and the preselected athletes of the men’s and women’s teams will attend the official event.
A total of 16 countries from Panam Sports will participate in Lima 2019, this guarantees the participation of the best 64 bowling players of America. Peru will have two representatives in the men’s and women’s categories. They will be chosen in a Pan American that will be held in Lima.
COMPETITION SYSTEM
The bowling competition will be held from July 25 to July 30 and it will be played in singles and doubles events, both for men’s and women’s categories. Singles will be played in five phases and only in the qualifying round we will have two series of six games per competitor. Whereas, the semi-finals stage will only have one game.
Likewise, doubles will be played in one stage, with two series of six games per athlete, that is a total of 24 games per country. The winner will be the team that knocks down more pins. Even though the men’s and women’s categories are independent, the rules and regulations will be similarly applied for both.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 26 and August 11, 2019, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 62 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 23 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 the Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. The competitions will take place between August 23 and September 1, 2019. Fourteen sports will be qualifiers for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
