“Culturaymi”, the Games Cultural Program, will be <2>a celebration of culture and sports</2> and will take place during the greatest multi-sport event of the continent.
It is an unprecedented initiative in Peru, which will showcase the artistic and cultural wealth of this country.
In order to have a greater number of proposals, Lima 2019 has decided to extend the Call for Cultural Projects for two categories, clothing design and visual arts, until Monday, June 10 (at 13:00).
“Culturaymi” aims to celebrate the sport values of the Americas and the diversity of the historic and artistic heritage of Peru as host country of the Games.
Several activities and events will be carried out since the start of the Pan American and Parapan American Games until August 31.

Five categories were part of the initial call, which finalized on May 27.
Aside from clothing design and visual arts, the categories of performing arts, music and art were included in favor of social transformation.
Lima 2019 Cultural Program
The entire Cultural Program will reflect the Lima 2019 values,
such as excellence, friendship, respect, equality, courage, determination, inspiration and equality, promoting them for over 30 days outside of the official competition venues among the Peruvian community and the international public.
After the Games, this vast repertoire of exhibitions and activities will remain as a unique artistic and cultural legacy for all Peruvians and will serve as a model for future cultural programs.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019.
This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 26 and August 11, 2019, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao. Some venues are the VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.
A total of 22 disciplines will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines.
Competitions will take place from August 23 to September 1, 2019.
Thirteen sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
