The Multisectoral Commission, led by the Lima 2019 Operations Manager, Alberto Valenzuela, will have representatives from the Ministry of Defense to continue working on public security and intelligence for the period before, during and after the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Though Ministerial Resolution No. 0452-2019-DE/SG, the Minister of Defense, José Huerta Torres, appointed the Chief of the Military Coordination Office and the Director of Knowledge Management and Academic Coordination of the General Department of Education and Doctrine as representatives of his sector. This resolution was published today in the Official Newspaper “El Peruano” and was signed by Huerta.
The Chief of the Intelligence Department of the Second Division of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces and the Counterintelligence Specialist of the Second Division of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces were appointed as representatives of the Intelligence Division Chief of the General Staff of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of the Second Army Division and the Chief of the Planning Department of the II Army Division will act on behalf of the Peruvian Army.
The Commander of the Second Naval Zone and the Chief of Staff of the Second Naval Zone will assist as representatives of the Peruvian Navy. As for the Peruvian Air Force, the General Staff Director and the Director of Telematics were also appointed.
Also, the Director of Intelligence and the Deputy Director of the Internal Front of the Army Intelligence Department (DIE) will be representatives of the Army Intelligence. The Chief of the Counterintelligence Department and the Counterintelligence Advisor will represent the Navy. Finally, the Intelligence Director and the Information and Aerospace Affairs Director were appointed to act on behalf of the Air Force.
All of them will be part of the working group leading the aspects of defense, public security and intelligence before, during and after the Lima 2019 Games.
