The Lima 2019 Organizing Committee was present at the opening ceremony of the Regional Stage of the National School Sports Games, which took place at Champagnat School, located in Surco.
Giorgio Mautino, Lima 2019 representative, gave an oath to the students participating in the Sports Games, in the presence of over 500 students from the Educational Management Units in Metropolitan Lima. Authorities from the Regional Bureau of Education of Lima (DRELM) were also in attendance.
The most significant moment was the athletes' parade with the presence of Milco, the official mascot of the Pan American and Parapan American Games, giving color to the event.
These inter-school competitions will take place from June 10 to 20 in 15 sports venues. More than 3200 schoolchildren will participate in competitions to define the regional champions.
It should be noted that the National School Sports Games bring together more than 700,000 students from 20,000 schools to compete in 17 sports and three Para sports disciplines along five stages.
Lima 2019, through the development of the Pan American and Parapan American Games, has been carrying out activities to bring students closer to sports, as is the case with the "Soy Lima 2019" campaign.
