LIMA 2019 PRESENTS PETROPERÚ AS GAMES OFFICIAL FUEL SUPPLIER

The Lima 2019 Organizing Committee presented Petroperú as the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games official fuel supplier. Petroperú will guarantee the fuel supply for the Lima 2019 bus fleet, which comprises 350 buses. The supply will be available in two gas stations: Villa El Salvador and Callao.

The 350 buses will be available to transport the delegations participating in the Lima 2019 Games. They will be identified by the slogan “Lima 2019 Games official fuel.”

Carlos Neuhaus, president of COPAL; Juan Antonio Silva, Lima 2019 Communications, Commercial and Marketing manager; Carlos Paredes, president of the Board of Directors of PETROPERÚ; Arturo Vargas, Commercial Manager of PETROPERÚ, and other personalities attended this presentation.

Peruvian athletes participating in Lima 2019 who are sponsored by the state-owned oil company also attended the ceremony, among them were: María Fernanda Reyes (surfing), Dunia Felices (Para swimming), Andy Martínez (athletics) and Efraín Sotacuro (Para athletics). They will proudly represent Peru, with passion, determination, will, and courage.

“You don’t know how important it is to us to have the support of Petroperú. It will make it possible to transport a massive number of vehicles. There will be 350 buses and almost 1000 vehicles for athletes and people related to the Games. We’re going to transport them from their accommodations to the competition and training venues. I would like to thank the whole Petroperú team for this strategic alliance,” said Neuhaus.

On the other hand, Paredes said that it is an honor for Petroperú to be a Lima 2019 partner, as it is a state commitment.

“Petroperú is proud to cooperate with the Lima 2019 Games. As part of the Peruvian government, Petroperú supports its policies. It would be impossible not to cooperate with this group of excellent, healthy athletes, who will surely heighten Peru’s name. We want to renew Petroperú’s commitment with culture and now with sports,” he said.

After his speech, the President of Petroperú delivered the first “Petroperú Fleet Card”, a new technology device that will allow vehicles and buses working with Petroperú to manage their fuel expenses more conveniently. After that, the first official fuel load for the Games was made in one of the Lima 2019 buses.

It should be noted that the Pan American and Parapan American Village, main accommodation venue for athletes and delegation officials arriving in our country, and the Villa El Salvador Sports Center, competition venue for karate, gymnastics, boccia and wheelchair rugby, are located in the district of Villa El Salvador.

Meanwhile, the Callao Regional Sports Village, comprising the Callao Sports Center and the Miguel Grau Coliseum, is located in Callao.

As part of this partnership, Petroperú is now authorized to organize contests to promote the Lima 2019 Games, use tickets with promotional purposes, and organize activations in competition and non-competition venues.
