The organization of Lima 2019 is promoting the sports which will be part of the competitions at the Pan American and Parapan American Games. The urban sports of Skateboarding and BMX Cycling have arrived to Surco.
The Skate Park located at the Loma Amarilla Park in Surco, gathered hundreds of young people who wanted to practice their favorite sport and look forward to the Lima 2019 Games.
Jordan Suarez, who has practiced BMX for 6 years and is a member of the national team, said: “ I’m very excited that we have a world-class Skate Park and this opens a door to keep improving. “Representing Peru is something which we always dream of and I’m so happy”
“The expectation for the Games is huge and this is a great responsibility for us. We're committed to promote this sport”, said Rosa Maria Peña, sports coordinator for the Municipality of Santiago de Surco.
Milco, the mascot of the Pan American and Parapan American Games, rode on a BMX without hesitation and encouraged the athletes who practice this sport to achieve the dream of being part of Lima 2019.
Surco will the venue for shooting and the district is working on the best way to promote Lima 2019. The venue for skateboarding and BMX Cycling will be located at Costa Verde in San Miguel.
