A new sponsor joined the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games as a strategic partner in the gold category. From today, Toyota will be the exclusive sponsor in the automobile category and will be the Torch Route official brand.
The Special Project for the Planning and Development of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games and the Japanese company, leader in the automotive market, signed an agreement that determines the assignment of 15 hybrid cars including the Prius, Rav4 and the new Hatchback to be launched soon in the Peruvian market.
Besides the 15 vehicles, Toyota will provide the organization with drivers, fuel, insurance and parking spaces to transport executives and athletes during the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Carlos Neuhaus Tudela, Lima 2019 executive director, Toshiro Hayashi, Toyota Peru executive president, Juan Antonio Silva, Lima 2019 Communications, Commercial and Marketing manager, and Yehude Simon, Toyota Peru Public Relations manager participated in this ceremonial event held at the National Stadium, Lima 2019 ceremonies venue.
Carlos Neuhaus appreciated the introduction of this new strategic partner for the organization of the largest multi-sports event in the continent to be held in Peru. “It’s a special moment. Lima 2019 adds a new sponsor, that will also help us to transport the Torch when the Games starts. The Torch will leave Teotihuacán on July 3 and will visit our main cities for 23 days, starting in Cusco,” he explained.
Then, Juan Antonio Silva said: “Toyota will be the exclusive sponsor in the automobile category and will be the Torch Route official brand. The last great activation to be held in Peru for 23 days. This is a national event and it’s the last great chance to bring the Games closer to Peruvians,” he added.
Toshiro Hayashi, Toyota Peru executive president and CEO, stated that they are highly honored to join this multi-sports event. "It's an honor for Toyota to sponsor the Lima 2019 Games, the most important multi-sports event of the Americas to be held in Peru. Lima 2019 will be part of the power of sports, that allows us to challenge and inspire us and join forces. We seek to inspire people to go on, achieve goals and reach the impossible. We're happy to be part of an unforgettable sports event,” he highlighted.
As part of this agreement, Toyota will promote the Lima 2019 Games through advertising campaigns in the media, as well as in digital platforms and social networks.
People who visit the VIDENA during the Games can also go to the Toyota House, a space where special activities will be held and the latest technologies offered by this brand will be showcased. Toyota was sponsor of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and will be a sponsor of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies, between July 26 and August 11, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 62 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 23 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 the Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. The competitions will take place between August 23 and September 1, 2019. Fourteen sports will be qualifiers for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
