LIMA 2019 VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAM WILL TAKE PLACE IN LIMA, HUACHO AND TRUJILLO

Currently, over 7000 volunteers have received training in Lima and other provinces thanks to the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program, with the support of the United Nations.

In order to provide training for all those who signed up to be a part of the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program, a new workshop will take place in Lima, Trujillo and Huacho this weekend, directed at over 4000 people interested in participating as volunteers in the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.

The objective of the training process is to provide participants with the necessary tools, in terms of knowledge and skills, to successfully carry out their role at the Games and help create a social legacy. This program will be carried out with the support of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Training sessions in Lima, Trujillo and Huacho

The training sessions have been scheduled for this weekend in Lima, Trujillo and Huacho. The first session will take place at Cesar Vallejo University in Los Olivos (Av. Alfredo Mendiola 6232, Panamericana Norte) this Saturday.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Volunteer Training Program will take place at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) campus in Chorrillos (Av. Alameda San Marcos, cuadra 2).

The Training Process will be conducted for the first time in the city of Huacho, home of the Albúfera de Medio Mundo in the district of Végueta, which will host the rowing and canoe sprint competitions during the Pan American Games. The training sessions will take place at José Faustino Sánchez Carrión National University (Av. Mercedes Indacochea 609, Puerta 1, Huacho).

Meanwhile, in the warm city of Trujillo, the capital of eternal spring, training sessions will take place Saturday and Sunday, February 2 and 3, at Cesar Vallejo University (Av. Larco 1771, Víctor Larco Herrera, Trujillo).

Training sessions at these venues will be conducted in two shifts: from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00. Participants must show their National Identity Document to enter. Participants should arrive one hour before the training session starts so that they can sign in and enter the classroom in advance.

This training program will reach 40,000 volunteer applicants and it includes approximately 20 class hours (in person and online). These lessons begin with general in-person training sessions for the applicants residing in the following cities of Peru: Lima, Callao, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Cajamarca, Huancayo, Tacna, Arequipa, Cusco, Tarapoto, Ica, Huacho, Cañete, Paracas, and Pisco, according to the schedule published on www.lima2019.pe/voluntariado.
