Outstanding Peruvian athletes, who are training hard for the Pan American and Parapan American Games, were introduced at the end of the Lima 2019 participation at the 56th edition of CADE.
Lima 2019 Ambassador Dunia Felices and Peruvian athletes María Fernanda Reyes, María Belén Bazo, Carlos Felipa, and Hernán Viera took a break from trainings to attend the most important business forum in Peru. CADE 2018 participants gave them a big round of applause.
Lima 2019 President Carlos Neuhaus Tudela praised them and expressed “all our work is for them.”
“They’re our biggest motivation because Lima 2019 belong to all Peruvians and here we’re all one team,” he remarked and referred to Lima 2019 slogan.
Before ending his presentation at CADE, Carlos Neuhaus introduced athletes and Para athletes, and praised their achievements and medals.
Lima 2019 Ambassador Dunia Felices is a great example of life and she is a brave Para swimmer who sets her hopes on claiming a medal at the Parapan American Games. Felices has recently won three gold medals at the Barranquilla Open, where she confirmed her participation in Lima 2019 Games. “She’s been three-time Parapan American champion,” Carlos Neuhaus highlighted.
Additionally, Peruvian weightlifter Hernán Viera is Peru’s strongest man. Lima 2019 President recalled that Hernán used to carry gas cylinders to provide for her mom, and now he lifts around 218 kilos.
“Carlos Felipa lost a leg in VRAEM (valley of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro rivers), and he’s won 100 and 200 meters at the Military World Games. He’s a super athlete,” Neuhaus pointed out.
Regarding Longboard Pan American champion María Fernanda Reyes, Neuhaus said her mom used to sell snow cones at Makaha beach in Miraflores district, and now Reyes is 20 years old, studies at university and ranks fifth in the world in that sports discipline.
Finally, he stressed that South American Windsurfing champion María Belén Bazo has already qualified for Lima 2019 Games.
All of them are Peru’s main candidates to earn a spot on the podium at Lima 2019 Games.
At the end of his presentation at CADE plenary session, athletes had the opportunity to spend time with the forum attendees in the Lima 2019 booth.
