This morning, the Peruvian Swimming Federation confirmed the list of 26 athletes led by the swimmer Mauricio Fiol that will compete in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games between August 6 and 10.
Fiol, who is finishing doping suspension, was authorized by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) to be registered in the Games, even when this suspension ends on July 11. Fiol tested positive in Toronto 2015 Pan American Games, after winning the silver medal in the 200 m butterfly event.
Based on the last selective control conducted in the pool of the Campo de Marte, and according to the evaluation criteria applied by the technical department of the discipline, the FPN also called Maria Alejandra Bramont Arias – who won two gold medals in the Rosario 2019 South American Games –, Adriana Buendia, Alexia Sotomayor, Andrea Hurtado, Arza Avdic, Gabriela Ccollcca and María Fe Muñoz.
Mariagracia Torres, Mckenna DeBever, Samantha Bello (Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games), Silvana Cabrera, Rafaela Fernandini, Jéssica Cattaneo and Mackenzie Nedom were also summoned.
The members of the men’s team are Carlos Cobos, José Neumann, Alexander Vílchez, Giovanni Gutiérrez, Joaquín Vargas, Ricardo Espinosa, Javier Tang, Sebastián Arispe, Miguel Zavaleta, Piero Canduelas and Giordano Gonzales.
Swimming will take place in the Aquatic Center at VIDENA. This is a modern facility built especially for the Pan American and Parapan American Games that has a competition 50 m pool, a warming pool and a special pool for diving.
Swimming, artistic swimming and diving will be held at the Aquatic Center.
