More than 6000 policemen will support the Pan American and Parapan American Games in June. They will graduate from the Class 2017-1 “Honesty” of the different police professional training schools in Peru.
A Supreme Decree issued by the Executive confirmed the organization of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games is of national interest. The events will take place from July 26 to August 11 and from August 23 to September 1, respectively.
This regulation states that policemen are being trained in the different National Schools of Police Professional Training (ENFPP) in Peru to increase the police operational capacity, so that they guarantee public security and protection of participants prior and during the Pan American and Parapan American Games.
It is important to say that the Police Professional Training is the educational process with academic, regulatory and administrative autonomy for the training, integration, update, specialization and further training of the National Police of Peru (PNP) of higher education, in order to guarantee the provision of a service and fundamental right for the society.
Overall, 6680 athletes from 41 countries of the Americas will compete at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games in 39 sports and 62 disciplines. Twenty-three of them are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Lima 2019 Parapan American Games will host 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, who will participate in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. Fourteen of them are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
