Panam Sports President Neven Ilic said that what Peru has done for the Pan American and Parapan American Games is wonderful. He also thanked the Organizing Committee for making this a first-rate event. “There are no other words to describe what Peru has done for these Pan American Games,” he stated.
“I’ve participated in many editions of the Games, in many sports activities, and the VIDENA Aquatic Center is amazing, the Athletics Stadium and the velodrome are incredible, and the Village is spectacular,” he emphasized during the delivery of the VIDENA Aquatic Center to the Peruvian Swimming Federation and the National Paralympic Association of Peru.
Ilic stated that this did not happen by magic, but it is the result of efforts, professionalism, Peruvians’ good heart and commitment. “That will allow our product called Pan American Games to be held in the highest regard worldwide,” he added.
He recalled that what encouraged them to keep going was the spirit, motivation and confidence of the Lima 2019 organization to do things the right way because they were representing their country and wanted to honor the commitment that Peru had taken on.
“All I can do is to thank you, every time I can, for the hard work you have put in every day, 24/7, to make it a success.”
He also thanked Peru and the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee because “the table is set, everything is alright, everything is up and running.”
“Thanks to the government too because things don’t run themselves. They happen when we all play together, when everyone works as a team,” he said and urged everyone to keep going “because you’re doing a fantastic job.”
