The Action Group for the acquisition of the Pan American and Parapan American Games Kits, through the purchase program MYPErú, signed a contract with 70 Peruvian MYPES (micro and small business) to purchase furniture for an estimated amount of PEN 9.8 million.
Thus, Lima 2019 supports the national industry through this process, generating jobs and benefiting over 1 200 employees of MYPES.
The Kits consist of manufactured goods of metalworking and wood nature, such as shelves, closets, bunk beds, lockers, sofas, among others. These items will be used to equip the main venues of the Games: the Pan American and Parapan American Village, the Villa María del Triunfo Sports Center, among others. Lima 2019 trusts the productive capacity of MYPES and the quality supervision that the Ministry of Production and the Ministry of Social Inclusion will provide through FONCODES.
Members of the Action Group, Minister of Production, Rocío Barrios; representatives of Lima 2019, Amalia Moreno, Executive Secretary; Jaime Reusche, Lima 2019 advisor and Angelo Lindo, member of Lima 2019 attended the official event held at the National Society of Industries. Other attendees were MYPES representatives who will be responsible for providing good to the Pan American and Parapan American Games Organization.
The head of the production sector praised the signing of the agreement with the small and medium-sized business. “The Games are a great opportunity for our country because it will an opportunity to show Peru to the world. We will provide the best furniture with a growing sector like the MYPES. Out of the participating business, 95% are micro-entrepreneurs and 5% small businessmen. Thank you for trusting Peru. Here, “we all play” and we are proud to be part of the Games”, she expressed.
Amalia Moreno, executive secretary of Lima 2019, affirmed that the contribution of MYPES will be part of the success of the Games. “The collaboration of micro and small business will be valuable for the realization of the Games. Lima 2019 is committed with the Peruvian manufacture and it will be an opportunity to show the world the quality of Peruvian products” commented Moreno.
In addition, Lima 2019 has also made a purchase worth PEN 11.5 million in uniforms for volunteers, workforce, judges and metal fences through the Action Group. The purchase was done due to the experience and quality of the MYPES products.
