The Peruvian company Peleón SRL, a sponsor of the Pan American and Parapan American Games and owner of “Casa Magna” chocolate brand, will launch the Games official chocolates during the first two weeks of March. The Games official chocolates will be given for free to the Games volunteers, according to the sponsorship agreement signed with Lima 2019.
With this high-quality product, made with 35% of Peruvian pure cocoa beans and with antioxidant properties, Lima 2019 seeks to promote both the Games and the ancestral culture of Peru. The chocolate will be named after “Milco”, the Lima 2019 Games mascot, which is inspired by the “Cuchimilco”, a clay figurine or idol from the ancient cultures Chancay, Lima and Chincha.
The signing of the sponsorship agreement was attended by the Lima 2019 Executive Director Carlos Neuhaus, the Lima 2019 Communications, Commercial and Marketing Manager Juan Antonio Silva, the Peleón SRL General Manager Emmanuel de Mauleón de Bruyeres and the company representative Isabel Vivanco.
“We’re very happy with this alliance,” Silva declared. “Gastronomy as a manifestation of the Peruvian culture will be present at the Pan American and Parapan American Games. This initiative seeks to relate our culture to sports.”
The representative of Peleón SRL revealed that a historian will attend the launching of the “Milco” chocolates to emphasize the importance of Peruvian culture. “The intention is that through these chocolates and the Lima 2019 mascot, inspired by the Cuchimilco, we can learn about our 5000-year-old ancient culture,” Vivanco declared.
Peleón SRL, which originally was a manufacturing company, will also provide uniforms for Lima 2019 Games staff with a value of over 94,000 USD, made with Peruvian cotton.
