Historic ticket sales record for sport shows in the country. Over 50,000 tickets for the ceremonies and sporting competitions of the largest multi-sport event in the Americas have already been sold in just two days.
The high interest of the public in attending the Pan American Games, to be held for the first time in Peru, made them buy their tickets immediately at different points of sale.
According to a report from Ticketmaster-Teleticket, around 35,00 tickets were sold through the Lima 2019 website, while 15,000 were sold in the different points sales located around Lima.
Tickets for each ceremony and preliminary event of the Pan American Games start at PEN 20.00 and for final competitions, at PEN 30.00. There will be a 50% discount for children under 18, senior citizens and people with an impairment.
Tickets can be bought in ten Lima 2019-authorized points of sale around the city. Tickets can also be purchased online through the official website www.lima2019.pe.
As for e-tickets, printing will no longer be necessary since spectators can show their e-tickets on their mobile phones at the entrance of the sports venue.
To ensure ticket sales and venue access control comply with the highest international standards for such an important event, the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee has chosen two world-leading partners: Teleticket and Ticketmaster. The combined work of these companies will guarantee a world-class service and create added value for the Games.
ABOUT THE PARAPAN AMERICAN GAMES TICKETS
Tickets for the Parapan American Games will start at PEN 10.00. In both cases, there will be a 50% discount for children under 18, senior citizens and people with an impairment. Ticket sales for the Parapan American Games will open on June 24.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas. According to the schedule, handball will kick off all competitions on July 24.
There will be 19 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 24 and August 11, 2019, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at different venues such as the VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. Competitions will take place from August 23 to September 1, 2019. A total of 13 Para sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
