The Panam Sports President, Neven Ilic, arrived in Peru to tour the main venues that will house the largest multisport event in the continent. He met the Lima 2019 Executive Director, Carlos Neuhaus Tudela, and the Prime Minister, Salvador del Solar, who confirmed the Peruvian Government’s commitment to the organization of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games in Peru.
As part of his visit, Neven Ilic supervised and checked the remarkable progress in the venues that will be part of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, some of which have already been delivered to Peruvian federations for their training in this international event.
The Panam Sports President toured the different stages of the National Sports Village (VIDENA), such as the new Sports Center 3, the Velodrome, the Athletics Stadium and the Aquatic Center, where three new pools are in the final construction stage.
He later visited the equestrian sports venue, Army Equitation School, and observed all construction works are almost completed. Afterwards, Neven Ilic later arrived to the Pan American Village, which was completed before the initial deadline, and verified the conditions of the apartments that will house athletes next July.
He ended his tour at the Villa El Salvador Sports Center. This venue is close to the Pan American Village and shows major progress ahead of its delivery.
“I’m impressed with the great progress I’ve seen in Lima. I want to congratulate everyone (Lima 2019 Organizing Committee) who is restlessly working hard for the Games success,” stated Ilic to the Panam Sports official website.
