The Peruvian rocker appealed to the enthusiasm of Peruvians, encouraging them to spread sports values.

PEDRO SUÁREZ-VÉRTIZ: “THE LIMA 2019 OFFICIAL SONG COMES FROM THE HEART AND WILL INVITE US TO TAKE PART IN THE GAMES.

The renowned Peruvian rocker had already shown his enthusiasm to write the Lima 2019 official song. However, in his weekly column in Somos magazine, he said: “as the Games draw closer, not only should this anthem be heard, but also the cheers and applause of all Peruvians.”

“This is a historic opportunity to show that we achieve great things when we are united. We have the chance to show off our hospitality and optimism this year. Also, our collective mood has needed endorphins for a long time now.”

As we all know, endorphins are not only produced by sports and music, but also by human contact. In this sense, Suárez-Vértiz revealed that the song, Let’s All Play—named after the Lima 2019 motto—, will talk about friendship.

“From my corner, music, I’ll write a song that identifies us as Peruvians. It will come from the heart and will invite us to take part in the Games. The Games will be the largest international sports event to ever be held in Peru. Our country will welcome close to 150,000 tourists and over 8000 athletes and Para athletes. That’s why the song will talk about friendship between countries.”

In addition, he said that being the song writer meant he had to work alongside other Peruvians who work for our country, who are lively and dynamic people.

“Most of us love Peru and we don’t waste time talking, we make things happen.” Instead of criticizing from the opposite side, let’s unite, each one from their own corner.”

For this new musical challenge, Suárez-Vértiz, who will be the producer and song writer, will be accompanied by Saúl Cornejo, co-producer and musical arranger; Manuel Cornejo, drums, bass guitar and percussion; and Miguel Ángel Yance, audio engineer, programming and keyboard.

Guillermo Bussinger will sing the song, vocalist of PEDRO SUÁREZ-VÉRTIZ®LA BANDA, and Mariajosé Suárez-Vértiz, Pedro’s daughter, who will sing the vocal harmonies of the song that will be heard around the world.
