The Pan American and Parapan American Games made a new strategic partner in the road to deliver the largest multi-sport event of the continent by signing an agreement with Petramás, which became a Lima 2019 Gold Sponsor.
Carlos Neuhaus Tudela, Lima 2019 executive director, and Jorge Zegarra Reátegui, Petramás CEO, signed the agreement this morning at the Aquatic Center of VIDENA.
The renowned company will be in charge of mitigating the Games’ carbon footprint, key for the sound and efficient management of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Company´s investments goes over 2 million dollars and will issue 370,000 Certified Emission Reductions (CERs). Carlos Neuhaus, stated that Petramás’ contribution is very important as they will take care of the elimination of 370,000 tons of carbon footprint, that will be produced during the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Lima 2019 executive director said that these Games will become the first “Carbon Neutral Pan American Games” and claimed that environmental conservation and service reuse will be priorities for Lima 2019. In that extent, he said that the water used in the Pan American and Parapan American Village will be reused for watering green areas of this facility.
Thanks to this agreement, Petramás will become an “Official Sponsor of Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games" and will have a set of benefits for showcasing its brand during the multi-sport event.
Petramás, in addition to CERs, is committed to show Lima 2019 logos as mobile advertising in vehicles doors and bodies, in 164 trips of different trucks. They will also spread the Games every Saturday at the Petromás tv space they have in the Peruvian channel Panamericana.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas. The Lima 2019 Pan American Games’ Sport Calendar will kick off two days earlier, July 24, with handball.
There will be 19 days of competitions and ceremonies, between July 24 and August 11, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 the Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. The competitions will take place between August 23 and September 1, 2019. Thirteen sports will be qualifiers for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
