Jumping is one of the three equestrian disciplines to be held at the Army Equestrian School, which is in the last remodeling stage by the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee. The course was approved by the International Technical Delegate of the International Equestrian Federation specialized in jumping and former US rider, Anthony D’Ambrosio, during his visit to our city.
The competition course, which includes materials such as silica sand and geotextiles, was tested by two horses from Finca Los Molinos and by the renowned Peruvian rider Ileana Stark Miró Quesada. The course texture was classified as suitable, after horses performed their routines comfortably.
“I’m satisfied with the quality of the competition course for jumping. My first impression is that it is suitable for competition and comfortable for horses participating in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games,” said the delegate of the International Equestrian Federation.
ARMY VISIT
Additionally, seven generals of the Peruvian Army also visited the Army Equestrian School to supervise the work progress in the venue. The visit was led by General Commander Jorge Céliz Kuong and the Lima 2019 Executive Director, Carlos Neuhaus.
General Céliz gave Neuhaus an emblem of the Peruvian Army that represent the alliance between both institutions to ensure the success of the Pan American and Parapan American Games.
“The participation of the Army is very important because it gave us four to five months of progress in the remodeling works at the Army Equestrian School. We realized that cooperation between institutions is the key for the success of these Games,” said Neuhaus.
