The Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games Organizing Committee is working alongside the Peruvian National Police on the Traffic Plan that will guarantee that the Games competitions and ceremonies are carried out in the established schedules so Peruvians are affected as little as possible.
The Transit, Transport and Road Safety Department of the Peruvian National Police will carry out this Saturday, June 1 “the first test of the Lima 2019 lane”, on the roads in which the official vehicles will transport more than 8000 athletes, as well as judges, referees, accredited journalists, volunteers and official authorities of the Games.
The transit in the left lane of the route that goes from the Pan American and Parapan American Village in Villa El Salvador to the National Sports Village (VIDENA) in San Luis will be restricted this Saturday from 04:00 to 09:00. Athletics, swimming, bowling, table tennis, badminton, judo, artistic roller skating, handball, squash and track cycling will be held at the VIDENA.
The vehicle restriction will be carried out in both ways in the following avenues:
- Av. Mariano Pastor Sevilla, from Av. El Sol to Mateo Pumacahua.
- Av. Mateo Pumacahua, from Av. Mariano Pastor Sevilla to Carretera Panamericana Sur.
- Carretera Panamericana Sur, from Mateo Pumacahua to Av. Circunvalación.
- Av. Circunvalación, from Carretera Panamericana Sur to Av. Canadá.
- Av. Canadá, from Av. Circunvalación to Av. Aviación.
In order to avoid traffic, the Peruvian National Police recommends to use the following alternative routes in both ways:
- From Av. Pedro Miotta to Mall del Sur.
- From Puente Atocongo to Av. Caminos del Inca. - The whole Av.
San Luis to Av. Aviación.
Lima will be the capital of sports in the continent and we must show that we are good hosts by respecting the Lima 2019 lane and the detour plan.
The National Peruvian Police and the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games Organizing Committee will continue to inform about this plan and the established routes during the Games that will take place from July 26 to September 1.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games are an opportunity to transform Peru through sports values. This is the first time that Peru hosts the largest multi-sports event of the Americas.
The Opening Ceremony of the Pan American Games will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019. This continental event will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 26 and August 11, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. Competitions will take place from August 23 to September 1, 2019. Thirteen sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
