The President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, invited the population to buy their tickets and root for the Peruvian athletes during his visit to the Villa María del Triunfo Sports Center, an important venue for Lima 2019 that has already been delivered and tested by the relevant sports federations.
“Please buy your tickets through the Lima 2019 website (www.lima2019.pe), so you can not only watch the high-level sports competitions, but also cheer on our national athletes,” he said.
Vizcarra advised the population to get their tickets in advance, so they can be part of this celebration that will be held in Peru and will showcase the country’s richness to the world.
“I ask all sport fans to buy their tickets in advance. We don’t want you to miss out a match of your favorite sport because all tickets are sold out.”
Moreover, he was pleased with the ticket sales, as over 100,000 tickets have been sold so far. This number reflects the high expectations all Peruvians have and their enthusiasm for the Games.
“Sport is important. We’re happy because more than 100,000 tickets have been sold. We’re still a little more than one month away from the opening of Lima 2019, and the tickets for the Opening Ceremony are already sold out. It is estimated that a total of 800,000 tickets will be sold.
It is worth mentioning that the price of the tickets for the preliminary sessions of the Pan American Games official competitions start at PEN 20.00. There will be a 50% discount for children under 18, senior citizens and people with an impairment.
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games is a continental event that will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and will open on July 26 at the National Stadium. There will be 17 days of competitions, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao. Some of the main venues will be the VIDENA, Villa María del Triunfo Sports Center, Callao Regional Sports Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will welcome 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, who will participate in 17 Para sports and 18 disciplines. The competitions will take place between August 23 and September 1, 2019. Additionally, 13 Para sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
