The Organizing Committee of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games announced that Repsol is the Official Store of Lima 2019 products and that it won the license to operate the official convenience stores of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
The partnership between Lima 2019 and Repsol guarantees more than 30 service stations in Lima and Callao, duly identified as Lima 2019 Official Store, which will serve as points of sale for Games merchandising such as stuffed toy Milco (Lima 2019 mascot), mugs, t-shirts, among others.
This partnership was announced by Carlos Neuhaus, Lima 2019 Organizing Committee president; Dante Blotte, CEO of Repsol Comercial S.A.C; and Juan Antonio Silva, Director of Communications, Marketing and Merchandising, during a press conference at the Chacarilla service station (one of Repsol’s gas stations, located on Av. Primavera, Santiago de Surco).
Neuhaus highlighted the importance of the Games as a promoter of national industry and the responsibility of showcasing the work and effort of Peruvians, not only in sports but in every possible fields.
“This is a store (Repsol) accredited by the Games, and the products in the Repsol stores will be Lima 2019 official products, as they have been properly registered in Indecopi. This is very important, because we must promote Peru’s industry.”
Meanwhile, Blotte stated that it is an honor for Repsol to be part of a world-class event. “We thank Lima 2019 for trusting us to be part of this event, this very significant international celebration, and for betting on us to be the Lima 2019 official convenience store.”
He also added that the convenience stores will be located inside the main venues of Lima 2019 and will be stocked with a wide variety of products, such as packaged food, candy, hygiene items, drugstore, among others, in order to meet the needs of different Lima 2019 stakeholder groups, including over 12,500 athletes and officials, 19,000 volunteers and more than one million spectators at the various competition and non-competition venues.
It is important to note that over 80% of official merchandising at Repsol convenience stores are made in Peru. The Lima 2019 Organizing Committee is thus able to maintain its commitment to Peruvian micro and small enterprises.
Repsol stores will also be located in the Pan American and Parapan American Village, National Sports Village (VIDENA), Callao Sports Center, San Marcos National University Stadium, National Stadium, Parque de la Exposición (Lima 2019 Cultural Program venue), Villa Maria del Triunfo and Lima Convention Center (IBC/MPC).
ABOUT LIMA 2019
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games is a continental event that will gather 6680 athletes from 41 countries and the Opening Ceremony will be held at the National Stadium on July 26, 2019.
There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies between July 26 and August 11, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.
The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. A total of 22 disciplines are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 the Olympic Games.
The Parapan American Games will gather 1890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. The competitions will take place between August 23 and September 1, 2019. Thirteen sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
