The Panamerican Championship for Badminton by teams, adds points for Lima 2019, the second round of competitions were completed at the Sportcenter 2, at the High Performance Center at VIDENA. Outstanding participation of the national team in every match.
At the start of the competition, Peru scored a solid five to null against the Colombian team. The Peruvian team obtained a smooth victory in their first participation.
The second match, the Peru was defeated by Canada, reigning Panamerican champion, aiming to ratify their title in Peruvian land. Peru was able to make it to the second round, after qualifying second in A Group of the Panamerican, gathering eleven teams from the continent.
In the second round, the national athletes competed against Cuba, falling three to null, despite their outstanding performance in every match.
The third round, to be held on Saturday February 16, featuring the Peruvian national team vs Mexico, Canada vs Cuba, United States vs Brazil and Guatemala vs Dominican Republic.
This event will grant significant points and is within the qualifying circuit for Lima 2019. Featuring the best players of the region, enhancing the level of the tournament and preparing our badminton athletes to face the most important multi sporting event from this part of the globe.
