VOLLEYBALL, TAEKWONDO AND BOWLING TEAMS SET TO PARTICIPATE IN PAN AMERICAN GAMES

There is growing expectation to find out who the Peruvian representatives at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be. Therefore, Peruvian Volleyball, Taekwondo and Bowling Federations confirmed the final participation list of athletes who will be defending the Peruvian colors in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The Games will start in just 44 days, with the opening ceremony to be held on July 26 at the National Stadium.

The Women's volleyball team coach, Francisco Hervás, delivered the list of twelve players who will compete between August 7 and 11 at Callao Sports Center, which was specifically built for Lima 2019 and will host volleyball and taekwondo competitions during the Pan American Games and sitting volleyball and Para taekwondo during the Parapan American Games.

The squad includes four “matadoras” who play in other teams abroad: Vanessa Palacios, Clarivet Yllescas and Zoila La Rosa, who play in France, and Angela Leyva, who was playing in Brazil and announced her transfer to the Turkish League this week.

They will be joined by Leslie Leyva, Maguilaura Frías, Shiamara Almeida, Angélica Aquino, Miryec Muñoz, Daniela Uribe, Esmeralda Sánchez, Yujhamy Mosquera, Karla Ortiz, Tahisa McLeod, Diana De La Peña and Maricarmen Guerrero.

Peru is in Group A along with Canada (this match will take place on August 7 at 20:30), Colombia (next day, same time) and Dominican Republic (August 9, also at 20:30). Argentina, Brazil, United States and Puerto Rico will play in group B. Each group winner will face the other group's runner-up in the semifinals. The final will take place on August 11 at 11:00.

THE TAEKWONDO 13

Olympic athlete, Julissa Diez Canseco (Rio 2016), leads the Taekwondo team at the Pan American Games.

Diez Canseco, who trains in United States alongside Olympic athlete Peter Lopez (Beijing 2008 and London 2012) will compete in Kyorugui (Combat), 49 kg category.

Also competing in Kyorugui will be Aitana Moya (-57kg), Diana Chirinos (-67 kg), Camila Orihuela (+67 kg) in women's; and Luis Oblitas (-58 kg), Braulio León (-68 kg), Franco Aurora (-80 kg) and Christian Ocampo (+80 kg).

Marcela Castillo, Hugo del Castillo, José María Montejo, Renzo Saux and Ariana Vera were also selected for Poomsae (dance).

TICKET SALES

Both Volleyball and Taekwondo events will take place at Callao Sports Center between July 27 and 29. In both cases, fans can secure their spot on the stands to cheer for their teams by purchasing their tickets at Teleticket stands. (More information at www.lima2019.pe).

BOWLING FOURSOME

The Peruvian delegation to compete in Bowling was defined. The Federation announced that Adrián Guibu, Gaby Ishikawa, Yumi Yuzuriha and Yum Oshikawa will represent Peru in the competition in the modern Bowling Center at VIDENA.

"This is our team for the Pan American Games. Give your all at the Pan American Games, guys. Peru has your back," posted the federation on its official social media accounts.

The statement was released after the participation of the Peruvian national team at the Ibero-American Championship in Puerto Rico, where the team won four medals: two silver and two bronze.

During the Pan American Games, Bowling events will take place from July 25 to 30.  Tickets for this sport can also be purchased in Teleticket.
