Seventy-four days before the start of the Pan American Games and almost 100 before the Parapan American Games, the “Soy Lima 2019” campaign continues to raise awareness among students through Olympic and Paralympic values.
A socio-cultural show was carried out at Los Educadores School in San Luis, with the aim of passing on a life experience to students, so that they can understand the sacrifices and efforts athletes make.
Students also discovered the Parapan American Games values, such as the search for equality, determination, inspiration and courage.
“The students learned, for instance, about Para sports and that those who work hard playing them and bringing victories to our country must be valued,” said María del Rosario Soto, the school’s principal.
Meanwhile, Rosa Fernández, school delegate of Los Educadores school, highlighted the content of the campaign’s presentation. “They talked about sports values and also that we must respect wheelchair users,” she said.
San Luis will be the home of the National Sports Village (VIDENA), one of the main Lima 2019 competition venues, and the schools of the district are gearing up to be hosts. “We’re going to carry out various activities to promote the Games because we want to demonstrate what our country has to offer,” added the principal.
Before the campaign and as part of the Ministry of Education’s current regulation, the students carried out the 10 minutes of daily physical activity as a habit for a healthy life.
In this way, the organization continues promoting the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, in order to strengthen the values required to practice sports and to confirm Lima 2019’s: Let’s all play!
