The “Soy Lima 2019” campaign continues touring schools to promote the Pan American and Parapan American values in the different districts with sports venues. Around 400 primary students of the Institución Educativa Sagrado Corazón de Jesús 6059 school participated in the socio-cultural activity of this campaign and shared a moment with Milco, the Lima 2019 mascot.
Moreover, they performed the 10-minute exercise routine promoted by the Ministry of Education.
“We combined the exercises with Andean music to encourage students to have a full workout through movement,” said Physical Education teacher Boris Acharte, who also indicated that the children had rehearsed during their breaks to show a clean and coordinated choreography.
“They are excited for the Pan American Games and were really happy to welcome Milco. It was a lovely event”, said School Principal Erich Velásquez, who added that the school promotes sport activities through football, volleyball, basketball and rhythmic gymnastics.
The students participated in this socio-cultural activity that aims to promote sports practice through the sport, Olympic and Paralympic values, which will be present at the Pan American and Parapan American Games.
“We promote many values that are necessary for our society,” said the school principal.
It is important to note that 18,000 students from 30 schools in the districts where venues of Lima 2019 are located —San Luis, Villa María del Triunfo and Villa El Salvador—will participate in the “Soy Lima 2019” campaign from April 29 to July 9.
