Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games organization launched the “Soy Lima 2019” campaign at the 1128 San Luis education institution, to promote sport and Para sport values among preschool, primary and secondary level students.
Around 18,000 students from 30 education institutions in district where venues of Lima 2019 are located —San Luis, San Borja, Villa María del Triunfo and Villa El Salvador— will participate in the campaign launched today, April 29, until July 9.
School visits are held under the social and cultural promotion to achieve a change of attitude, to promote sport through the practice of sport, Olympic and Paralympic values, present int the Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Milco, official mascot of the Lima 2019 Games, attended today’s activity.
“I want to congratulate the Games organizers for this activity promoting the participation of young students. As a district where the Lima 2019 Games will take place, we will welcome everyone with great enthusiasm. Our physical education teachers are encouraging students and parents to be part of this celebration,” said Pascual Cotrina Parra, Head of San Luis 1128 school.
What is the objective of social and cultural promotion?
To spread a life experience among school students so they can understand the effort and dedication made by athletes. Through sport, Olympic and Paralympic values and their families support, they can achieve their goals and make their dreams come true, but most of all, they can become better persons in every aspect.
The Pan American Games will gather over 6000 athletes from 41 countries with 39 disciplines, while the Parapan American Games will receive 1980 athletes from 33 countries. They will compete to carve their names on the podium.
This way, the Lima 2019 organization continues promoting the Pan American and Parapan American Games, strengthen sport values and the Lima 2019 message: “Let’s all play.”
